This event celebrates a collaborative project (between UNSW, and industry partner, HammondCare, with support from an Australian government grant) providing participatory arts for older people with health and wellness needs. The event will challenge health care practitioners and artists to consider participation in the arts as an important tool, alongside traditional health care, to achieve greater wellbeing. Come and enjoy a lively interview style presentation, original art, band and refreshments.

Lessons learned from genome and epigenome studies in large populations and haematological rare diseases. Willem H Ouwehand is Professor of Experimental Haematology at the University of Cambridge and the Wellcome Trust Sanger Institute. He leads a research team that specialises in studies on the formation and function of platelets with a focus on their role in heart attacks and stroke, respectively.

Targeting cell survival and proliferation pathways in cancer

Dr Lee is interested in understanding the molecular mechanisms underlying cell fate decisions dictated by the processes of apoptosis, proliferation and autophagy. She employs biochemical, cell biology and structural approaches, as well as mouse models, to research how these pathways give rise to cancer when deregulated and how they can be targeted therapeutically.
